Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirement for License Renewal

As a leading HR certification body, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence within the field of Human Resources. To ensure that CPHR International-certified professionals remain at the forefront of industry knowledge and practices, we have established a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement for license renewal for practitioners with the following certifications: Senior Certified Practitioner in Human Resources (sCPHR), Certified Executive HR Consultant (CEHRC®), and Certified People Management Executive (CPME®).

Objective: The CPD requirement is designed to promote ongoing learning and skill development among HR professionals, enabling them to adapt to evolving trends, technologies, and best practices. By completing CPD activities, certificants will enhance their expertise, stay updated with the latest industry advancements, and contribute to their professional growth.

CPD Requirement: All certificants are required to accumulate a minimum of 60 CPD hours within a renewal period identified for the concerned programs respectively. This requirement reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and acknowledges the dynamic nature of the HR profession.

CPD Activities: Certificants have the flexibility to select from a wide range of CPD activities to fulfill their requirements. These activities are designed to cater to different learning styles and preferences, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded professional development experience. CPD activities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Formal Education: Attending workshops, seminars, conferences, webinars, and courses relevant to HR.
  2. Self-Directed Learning: Engaging in independent study, research, and reading of HR-related materials.
  3. Professional Presentations: Delivering presentations, workshops, or lectures at HR events or conferences.
  4. Mentoring and Coaching: Participating as a mentor or mentee in HR mentoring programs.
  5. Publishing and Writing: Authoring articles, blogs, or whitepapers on HR topics.
  6. Committee Involvement: Serving on HR-related committees, task forces, or industry boards.
  7. Technology and Innovation: Learning and applying new HR technologies and innovative practices.
  8. Volunteer Activities: Contributing HR expertise to nonprofit organizations or community initiatives.
  9. Language and Communication Skills: Developing language proficiency and communication skills relevant to HR interactions.

CPD Recording and Documentation: Certificants are responsible for accurately tracking and documenting their CPD activities. Our online CPD portal provides a user-friendly platform for certificants to log and manage their CPD hours, activities, and supporting documentation.

Renewal Process: At the end of the renewal period, certificants must have completely submitted their CPD records through the myCPHR online portal along with their renewal application. A random audit process will be conducted to verify the accuracy of submitted CPD records. Certificants selected for audit will be required to provide supporting documentation for a sample of their completed CPD activities.

Non-Compliance: Certificants who fail to meet the CPD requirement will be subject to a non-compliance process. This may result in a delay in certification renewal, additional CPD hours required, or other sanctions as determined by the certification body.

By participating in our CPD program, CPHR International-certified practitioners demonstrate their dedication to professional growth, excellence, and the ongoing advancement of the HR field. We are confident that this CPD requirement will contribute to a more knowledgeable, skilled, and effective HR workforce, ensuring the continued success of our certificants and the organizations they serve.
